Siri doesn't do Knock Knock jokes

Hope you are all doing well.  I have been swamped with overall craziness these days.  I am settling into a routine with the new boss and my new desk.  We are all adjusting to each other.

March is a very busy month for the Crazy Book Lady.  Tonight I am excited to be involved with Ladies Night Out in Lake Crystal.  This is put together by Jenny Yost at Lake Crystal Area Rec Center.  It is a fun night!!  This is the 3rd year I've been involved and I look forward to it every year.

Tomorrow and Saturday I am involved in the Farm City Hub Club Agriculture Show.  This is another great event that helps to kick my spring into gear.  It's one of the first big "Outtings" of the year and everyone is eager to get out of the house.  I love meeting new people and seeing friends and acquaintances that I haven't seen in sometime.

Amanda and I have been working on Knock, Knock Jokes lately.  We have had a great time!  You can view all of them here
Here are the last 2.  Even Dad has gotten in on the fun.

Don't try asking Siri though.  She doesn't "do" knock-knock jokes.

Knock, Knock Who's There Project

Amanda and I have started a new project.  Knock, Knock Jokes.  Who doesn't love them!?!?!

We have decided to record and post 1 funny knock, knock joke per day.  I select the joke and read it to myself.  Then I turn the camera on and tell it to Amanda.  She has never heard the joke before and her reactions are priceless.  She has the best laugh.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Nothing brightens my day more than hearing my childrens laughter.

Enjoy!!

Changes at Work

I feel bad being so absent from my blog.  I really enjoy writing the posts but time has been really tight lately.

Last Monday I got a new boss.  I am very excited about what this new boss can do for our department.  She is very intelligent and has a lot of great experience.  Trucking experience.  This is huge for us!  Huge!

Today I went into work and moved my docking station, monitor, personal items, etc to a new desk.  This was hard because I like my old desk.  I like my neighbors.  It's close to the bathroom, water, and coffee pot.  It was centrally located and private.  My new desk is my upstairs, not as private but is near the computer room and bathroom.  It's close to the break room.  I don't really know any of the people I will sit by.    I went in to move my desk so I could do this at my pace without a ton of questions about why I was doing it.  I got settled and turned up the tunes.  I got my reports done and feel comfortable in my new digs.

We will see how things progress.  One day at a time, one foot in front of the other.  It will be ok.

Valentines Day Craft

Are you ready for Valentines day?  My daughter Amanda is.  She's been working on her Valentines Cards/Gifts for two weeks.  Jacob (of course) hasn't started yet.

Here is a great looking Valentines Card idea.  I would love to see pictures of your cards.  Be sure to share them with me!

Busy Bee

I have been a busy little bee the last few days.  Sorry I was so absent from the blog.  Time just seems to get away from me so easily.

Last Weekend my Great Uncle passed away so on Monday I ducked out of work for a while and went to the funeral.  It was a wonderful service honoring a great man.  He had been in the Korean War and was rightly honored by the Color Guard.  The 21 Gun Salute and Taps always gets to me.  They show such respect and care for the family.  It was an honor to watch them present my Aunt and their kids with the flag.

This last week was Lutheran Schools Week at St. Paul's School.  This is always such a fun week for the kids.  Every day they get to dress up with a different theme.  Tuesday John and I went and had lunch with the kids.  It was crazy Hair and Clash day.

After lunch we hunt out in the Kindergarten Room and played Shoots and Ladders for a bit.  Always a good time hanging out in Mrs. Wolf's Room!! Amanda is so proud of her classroom and loves to show us around.  She loves going to school.

My Turn Daddy!!

Wednesday was Muffins with Mom Day and Friday was Donuts with Dad.  Everybody got in on the fun last week!!

We also are proud to announce we have a new driver in the family.  Nick passed his drivers license test on Thursday.  I can honestly say I have no worries about him driving.  He does an amazing job and is very mature about it.  So proud of the young man he has grown into.  I haven't gotten a chance to snap a picture of him with the car.  Don't worry... next time the opportunity comes I won't let it slip away!

Saturday was Bach Fest in New Ulm.  John and I weren't able to go out to the brewery for festivities but we were able to sneak out for a little while Saturday night.  There were several live bands downtown and the weather was beautiful out.  We walked downtown and got to visit with some great friends down there. It's always fun to sneak out for some time with my Husband.

Love one another

It's always hard to come back to work on Mondays.  We get so cozy in the weekends.  It probably doesn't help when it's this cold and we got more snow last night.  To get an extra jump on things I hauled my rear out of bed an hour early and came into work.  It's so nice to come in when it's quiet and you can actually be on top of things.  Most days I dive into the "thick of it" and always feel behind the 8 ball.  So glad I did.

I am headed out in a few minutes to my Great Uncles Funeral.  Mayo Granaas.  So sad to see such a wonderful man leave this world.  I'm clinging to the thought that he's with his Sister now.  My Grandma.  By now she's a pro at Heaven and I imagine she's showing him around. I'm sure they had a great time catching up.

Be good to one another today.  You never know when things could change in an instant.

Daycare Love!

I am interested in helping out the local day cares in New Ulm with some Story Time.  My kids went to daycare from the time they were 6-7 weeks old until they went to school and I know how crazy the day can be at day care.  I have had an amazing time reading at St. Paul's School and Madelia Elementary.  It finally dawned on me... Why stop there!?!

I enjoy myself as much as the kids do. Watching them get excited about the story.  Totally worth it!!

Yesterday I went and visited a day care in New Ulm.  Maggie was one of the first in-home day cares I thought of when I started thinking about this project.  She has been doing day care a long time and has an amazing set up in her house just for her day care kids.  I know she loves Usborne books and has two great kids who love them too!!  I ran into Maggie at an event for the Just For Kix Dance Program that her daughter and Amanda are both in. I mentioned my interest in coming to read at her day care and she immediately said yes.

Yesterday I read 3 books to the kids:

Gobble, Gobble Moo Tractor book by Jaz Alborough
Gobble, Gobble Moo Tractor Book by Jez Alborough
Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster by Michelle Nelson-Schmidt

Whatif Monster Plush came along too!!
A Little Vikes Football Story

The kids had a great time and were great listeners!!  Oh the fun we had!!

When I was done I left Maggie with a copy of our New January Catalog so she can browse all the new titles.  I also left her with mini-catalogs for the parents and our Home and School Flyers.  Maggie will be earning free books based on all the parents orders.  Everybody loves FREE Books!!

Are you interested in having me read at your daycare?!  I'd love to come over and visit.  I am working hard to keep my visit limited to 30 minutes and am flexible when I can come.  I will work around your schedule.  Give me a shout and let me know!!
